The treatment is considered permanent and will not wash off however, it will fade over time and may need a touch-up every 6 to 18 months. Frequency of touch-ups depends on several factors including: the pigment color used (lighter colors fade faster), lifestyle (sun exposure), and if any chemical peels come into contact with treated areas. Please note that results cannot be guaranteed as each unique skin type will hold pigments differently and break down at different rates. We will evaluate your skin’s pigment retention at your touch-up appointment and make changes if necessary. Touch-ups are normal for cosmetic tattoo procedures. The initial procedure is followed by a touch-up 6 to 8 weeks later. Previously tattooed facial areas may require one or two additional appointments and rarely achieve similar results to those who have no previous tattoo work.
